Netflix has debuted a lot of new movies in 2025 — including its biggest release of all-time — but which ones have scored highest on Rotten Tomatoes? Let’s take a tour.

Before watching a movie, most people search it up on Google. That’s just something that happens nowadays. One of the first things that viewers will see is the movie’s score on Rotten Tomatoes. The approval rating has become ubiquitous, with ‘Rotten’ and ‘Fresh’ being seen as a key metric, and the factor that sees a lot of people pass judgment on a film before even seeing it. The scores can be misleading (for instance, a movie with one review could score 100%). In this list, we look at the 15 top-scoring Netflix movies of 2025 on Rotten Tomatoes, according to those ‘at first glance’ scores.

Note: These ratings were accurate at the time of writing. Moreover, some movies have many more ratings than others, which can skew the ratio.

Based on the best-selling novel by Richard Osman, The Thursday Murder Club is distinctly British murder mystery movie. Directed by Chris Columbus, the movie boasts an all-star cast, including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and Jonathan Pryce. It follows four retirees, who take it upon themselves to solve cold cases as a pastime… but when they get deep into a case, they get more than they bargained for.

We weren’t blown away by the movie in our review, rating it just 2.5/5 stars.

A sequel movie has not been officially announced by Netflix, but the feeling surrounding a follow-up is positive among cast members. Osman himself has plenty of other novels to adapt.

Based on fact, Nonnas tells a very different story. The movie follows iconic Italian-American restaurateur Joe Scaravella (played on-screen by Vince Vaughn). Upon losing his mother and grandmother, Scaravella embarks on a business foray, opening up Enoteca Maria. However, what’s unique about this restaurant comes from its staff, which is made up entirely of Italian grandmothers.

We rated Nonnas a solid 3/5, calling the movie a “family-friendly, sentimental homage to the power of mothers and the legacies they leave behind.”

Adapting Frankenstein was always a career goal for director Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water). The movie feels like a labour of love from the first scene to the last. Starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, and Mia Goth, the movie is everything fans could have hoped for. If you’re unfamiliar with Frankenstein, the story follows inventor Victor Frankenstein, who creates a creature by mashing together human remains. Horrified by its grotesque appearance, he abandons it. Left to its own devices, the Creature seeks revenge on his creator.

In our 4-star review, we celebrated Guillermo del Toro’s direction, saying he “creates a Frankenstein all his own without sacrificing the madness & beauty of Shelley’s work.”

KPop Demon Hunters was a Netflix phenomenon, smashing viewership records at every turn.
