Aaron Carter’s 1-year-old son, Prince, sues doctors, pharmacies for wrongful death: report
Aaron Carter died from a drowning accident, but the singer’s young son, Princeton Lyric Carter, reportedly believes otherwise.
Nearly one year after Aaron was found dead in a bathtub in his Lancaster, Calif., home, a wrongful death lawsuit was reportedly filed by Princeton’s mom, Melanie Martin, on his behalf.
In court docs obtained by TMZ Friday, Princeton alleges that doctors and pharmacies played a key role in the “Fool’s Gold” crooner’s demise.
The toddler claims they improperly prescribed and dispensed medications that affected Aaron’s judgment and mental health.
According to the documents, doctors allegedly prescribed hydrocodone, oxycodone and alprazolam without any sort of medical reasoning.
The suit reportedly also claims the medications had a negative impact on Aaron’s wellbeing and ultimately led to his death, especially when “combined with Carter’s known mental health history and psychiatric condition.”
Walgreens, among others, is named as a defendant in the lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages, per TMZ.
The “I Want Candy” singer was found dead at age 34 by his housekeeper on Nov. 5, 2022.
His cause of death was later attributed to the effects of difluoroethane, a flammable gas that is often used as the propellant in cans of compressed air, as well as alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.

The autopsy report obtained by Page Six this past April claimed Aaron, whose manner of death was ruled accidental, was incapacitated while in the bathtub after he slipped under the water and drowned due to the effects of the substances, according to officials.
Once the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report was revealed, the “Dancing With the Stars” alum’s former fianceé questioned his cause of death.
“[This is] not closure for me,” Martin told TMZ in April, saying she was left with “only … more questions.”
This past year, Aaron’s mom, Jane Carter, also questioned the former child star’s cause of death.
In March, she released images of her son’s death scene, writing via Facebook that his passing was “never investigated it as a possible crime because of his addiction past.”
The singer’s friend Brian Cassidy and former manager Morgan Matthews also spoke to Page Six about their own suspicions.
They claimed the rapper often talked about “people being after” him.
Aaron was survived by his son, whom he and Martin welcomed in November 2021.
