Ahsoka Episode 6 Recap: 8 Biggest Spoilers & Ending Explained
Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Ahsoka episode 6Ahsoka episode 6 finally takes the Star Wars canon to a brand-new galaxy, featuring a collection of exciting reveals with major implications for the franchise at large. As seen in previous episodes of Ahsoka, dark agents in service to Grand Admiral Thrawn have been working to bring back the former Imperial leader who’s long been exiled to another galaxy. Now, the new Star Wars show has offered the first look at this new frontier along with major returns and reunions from both heroes and villains alike.
Following the events of Ahsoka episode 5 with its dynamic transformation for the titular Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), the Jedi found a way to follow Morgan Elsbeth and her allies who’ve traveled to Thrawn’s location using a massive hyperspace ring and ancient star map. While Ahsoka and the Jedi droid Huyang are still en route with help from a pod of star whales, Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) has made it to the world of Peridea, having joined Baylan Skoll in her desire to find Ezra Bridger (who went missing with Thrawn). Here are the biggest spoilers and reveals from Ahsoka episode 6.
8 The History Of The Star Wars Galaxy Begins With Peridea
As Ahsoka and Huyang travel inside the mouth of a large star whale, it’s confirmed that the history of the primary Star Wars galaxy begins with this extragalactic world of Peridea. This is confirmed by the incredibly ancient Huyang who would tell Jedi Padawans stories about the history of the galaxy. Peridea was apparently one of his very first tales, believed to have only been part of myth and legend. To hammer that idea home, Huyang begins a tale of Peridea with Star Wars’ most iconic line: “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…“
7 Peridea Is The Ancient Homeworld Of The Nightsisters
Once Morgan Elsbeth and her allies Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati land on Peridea (with Sabine as their captive), they meet with three Nighsisters. Likewise, it’s confirmed by Morgan that Peridea was the ancient homeworld of her fellow witches known as the Dathimiri. It seems as though they originally came from this world to the main galaxy, settling on the world that would be known as Dathomir after using purrgil star whales they call “The Travelers”.
6 The Nightsisters Aren’t Extinct After All
In the main Star Wars galaxy, the Nightsisters and their connection to Maul are largely extinct following the Clone Wars. However, it seems as though the Nightsisters live and still retain a level of power over Peridea, at least when it comes to this new trio known as the Great Mothers. Likewise, they may be trapped as well with the reveal that the purrgil typically only come to this world to die with the planet’s rings being comprised of their massive bones floating in orbit.
5 Morgan Elsbeth Succeeds In Finding Thrawn
Ahsoka episode 6 finally reunites Morgan Elsbeth with her patron Grand Admiral Thrawn. Having been in his service long before his exile as confirmed by The Mandalorian season 2, it seems as though all of Morgan’s years of hard work to bring about his return are finally paying off. Through Morgan and her connections to the Nightsisters, Grand Admiral Thrawn has his means of returning to the primary Star Wars galaxy.
4 Thrawn Plans To Return To The Star Wars Galaxy – & Believes He Can Conquer It
Backed by his iconic Star Destroyer known as The Chimaera, Thrawn makes his official debut in Ahsoka episode 6 along with the remains of his forces who were exiled alongside him in the finale of Star Wars Rebels. Known as the Night Troopers, many of these troopers’ armor is battered and worn due to their years of being stranded with their Grand Admiral. Likewise, Thrawn also has a new right-hand man named Captain Enoch, seen wearing a striking golden mask and new pieces incorporated into his traditional armor.
As a result, the reveal of the Grand Admiral’s forces proves what was teased in The Mandalorian season 3 by Captain Pellaeon during the Imperial Shadow Council. According to Pellaeon, it’s believed that Thrawn’s return will herald the resurgence of the Imperial Remnant’s military. As such, Thrawn’s forces are a strong indicator that the galaxy will be in grave danger when and if he indeed escapes Peridea.
3 Thrawn Allows Sabine To Find Ezra Bridger
Although Sabine Wren was held captive during the journey to Peridea, Thrawn agrees to honor Baylan’s promise to Wren by giving the Mandalorian Jedi the opportunity to venture out and look for Ezra Bridger. As such, Sabine eventually finds her old Jedi friend with an incredibly heartwarming reunion in Ahsoka episode 6. That being said, Thrawn allowing both Sabine to leave and Baylan and Shin to follow is likely part of a greater strategy to leave all of them behind while he and his forces make their escape from the extragalactic world.
2 Baylan Hints At His Own Agenda – And Thrawn May Not Be Ahsoka’s True Villain
According to Baylan when speaking with his apprentice, the former Jedi is seeking power to finally break the ongoing cycle of violence that has plagued the main Star Wars galaxy for millennium. Seeking a hidden source of power, it’s potentially being teased that a new threat may emerge in Ahsoka that’s bigger than Grand Admiral Thrawn himself. Confirming that he misses the idea of what the Jedi Order should have been compared to what it actually was during the prequel trilogy, perhaps Baylan Skoll is searching for a means to form a new order greater than the Jedi themselves.
1 Thrawn Plans To Use Nightsister Magick Against Ahsoka
Learning about the imminent arrival of Ahsoka Tano with the pod of star whales she bonded with in Ahsoka episode 5, Grand Admiral Thrawn announced his desire to learn everything about his new rival. After all, Ahsoka now stands to be the greatest obstacle between Thrawn and his return to the primary Star Wars galaxy. To that end, what will be truly exciting is the fact that Thrawn has history with Ahsoka’s master Anakin Skywalker, one of the few characters who knew about his corruption as Darth Vader. As such, Thrawn will likely seek to weaponize the past once he inevitably faces Tano.
Likewise, it’s evident that Grand Admiral Thrawn intends to use the full power of his own forces combined with the magicks of the Nightsisters against Ahsoka once she arrives to try and prevent his return as Heir to the Empire. As such, it’s going to be crucial that Ahsoka reunite with Sabine and Ezra as soon as possible. Clearly, she’s going to need all the help she can get in the episodes of Ahsoka still to come.
Ahsoka releases new episodes Tuesdays at 6 pm PT / 9 pm ET on Disney+.
