Fazil the Great Scholar is one of your targets to assassinate in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, found in a large Symposium that can be difficult to infiltrate without getting caught. This leader of the Order of Abbasiyah has been conducting human experiments to try and control dark magics. The perverted knowledge wielded by Fazil must be stopped, but his actions’ insidious and hidden nature makes him hard to find.

The mission to eliminate Fazil begins in The Great Symposium, a massive academic building with twisting turns and multiple floors. Before you even start, use Eagle Sight to look for places that might hold potential clues regarding the Great Scholar’s location. The restricted area here is smaller than Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘s large map size, letting you focus on specific points of interest to investigate.

Eavesdrop for Clues

Assassin's Creed Mirage Eavesdropping on Librarian for Clues in Attempt to Assassinate Fazil the Great Scholar

Basim can blend into the background of spots throughout the Symposium in Assassin’s Creed Mirage and eavesdrop on different people to learn more about Fazil’s whereabouts. From the room where you start in the area, head right and turn left before reaching a set of stairs leading to the upper levels. Find a distraught librarian here talking to someone about how they lost an important book of Fazil’s.

Head outside to find two speakers near a bench talking about rumors of underground passageways below the House of Wisdom. An individual named Kahraman can be spoken to about these tunnels, but they will deny any possibility of secret routes unless you have proper payment. You will need to give them a Scholar Khidmah Token in Assassin’s Creed Mirage to bribe Kahraman into telling you more.

Khidmah Tokens can be earned by pickpocketing people along the city streets or by completing various Contracts. Each has a different effect and can be used to purchase favors from different characters you meet.

The two speakers may also mention that a gardener might have a key that unlocks the path into the underground area. You should be able to find this gardener close to the roof on one of the highest floors you can climb up to. Activate your Eagle Sight to pinpoint the worker’s location ahead of time, and be careful not to get spotted as you try to keep your notoriety low in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Find The Key or Learn the Passcode

You can find the path leading to the underground passages next to a Gatekeeper, who guards an ornate blue door in the same place next to the stairs leading to the librarian. When you talk to this NPC, they will ask Basim, “Those Who Came Before are…?” This is clearly some code demanding a specific response in Assassin’s Creed Mirage that you might be able to learn by exploring the House of Wisdom.

Now, the door behind the Gatekeeper can also be opened by the key you get from the gardener, so there are multiple options. However, if you want to avoid sneaking past the Gatekeeper to use the key, you will find the passcode inside the book the librarian lost. If you follow the librarian from where you eavesdropped on them, you can use Eagle Sight to spot the book in Assassin’s Creed Mirage on a balcony to the northwest of the Symposium.

You must avoid some guards to reach Fazil’s book in a restricted section of the Symposium past the librarian, which you can see is glowing orange when you use Eagle Sight.

The rest of the passcode revealed in the book is “Those Who Shall Return,” a phrase that will convince the Gatekeeper in Assassin’s Creed Mirage to open the door. The room you enter is scattered with different scrolls documenting Fazil’s recent works, including a Great Work in the basement. Go ahead and move a bookshelf in this space to reveal a set of stairs going down into a Restricted Area within a series of tunnels.

Grab a Disguise

This section of the assassination may be the trickiest to complete without getting into a fight due to the many guards who patrol the passages underneath the House of Wisdom. Mark enemies with Eagle Sight to ensure you don’t get surprised as you explore this labyrinth in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Use your Whistle ability to lure guards into corners for quick and silent kills that fail to alert anyone lurking around this area.

Eventually, you will find a room with three guards commenting on how they plan to use “volunteers” for the Great Scholar’s experiments near some iron cages and shackles. Wait until one of them leaves before using throwing knives to make the red pots in the room explode, which will either kill them or cause a distraction for easy assassinations. Travel a bit further to the left of the room to a larger prison space in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Near the holding cells, here is a note from Fazil saying that all those he conducts his ritual on must be wearing the right clothing before being brought to him. Go through the first cell door you see and travel under a break in the right wall to discover one of the Great Scholar’s previous victims in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Disguise yourself with the clothes from the corpse to act as the next willing participant in Fazil’s demented studies.

Participate in the Ritual

The WhitePatient’s Robe you put on lets you blend in perfectly, getting a free escort from one of Fazil’s soldiers when you go past the prison door. Descending another staircase places you in a terrifying ritual chamber, Fazil’s library of taboo knowledge and dark practices in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. In the center is a mechanism that resembles a flower where Fazil is arguing with others about interruptions to his “Great Work.”

Simply press the Blend In option at the center of the machine to start a cutscene that lets you assassinate Fazil the Great Scholar without getting caught in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
