Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr apologizes to former US President Donald Trump after an alleged video of a private call between the two was leaked online by his son Bobby Kennedy III.

Reacting to the leak, Robert F Kennedy Jr wrote:
‘When President Trump called, he was taping with an in-house videographer. I should have ordered the videographer to stop recording immediately. I am mortified that this was posted. I apologize to the President.’
The video, which is reported to have been recorded on Sunday, a day after the assassination attempt on the former US President at his Pennsylvania rally, has since been deleted.
Bobby Kennedy III wrote that Donald Trump can be heard ‘giving his real opinion to my dad about vaccinating kids.’
Initially, Bobby Kennedy III added:
‘I believe these sorts of conversations should be had in public.’
Bobby also derided Trump’s choice of Senator JD Vance (R-OH) as Trump’s running mate and termed his choice akin to ‘JD ‘fire all the unvaccinated nurses’ Vance’ over ‘unity.’
In other words, Bobby was implying that his father was being considered as a potential choice.
Soon after posting, Robert F Kennedy Jr deleted the tweet featuring the video.
The clip, which was posted on Tuesday, showed Trump criticizing vaccines and the dosage amounts.
Trump said that there is something wrong with the whole system.
Trump was giving fuel to the discredited ideas about vaccine doses, comparing the quantity of vaccines given to babies to that meant for horses.
‘When you feed a baby, Bobby, in vaccination, it’s like 38 different vaccines and it looks like it’s meant for a horse.’
The spread of such unverified misinformation is also contributing to declining childhood vaccination rates in the United States. This trend was further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Biden camp was quick to seize on this opportunity and its campaign spokesman Joe Costello said in a press release:
‘Trump and his anti-vax bud ‘Bobby’ are spreading dangerous conspiracy theories that threaten the life-saving care that tens of millions of people depend on.’
Trump also discussed the shooting and said:
‘I just turned my head to show the chart. And something wrapped me. It felt like a giant… like the world’s largest mosquito. And it was. It was a bullet going around. You know, what do they call that, an AR-15 or something? That was a big gun. That was a pretty tough gun, right?’
