‘Cobra Kai’ Season 6 Creators Confirms Episode Count and Release Date Window
Over the festive period, the creators behind Cobra Kai have been busy interacting with fans and have given a few hints away at season 6, including a confirmed episode count (although there’s more to that than meets the eye) and some hints as to what’s coming.
In case you missed it – Cobra Kai is coming back for a final season, but since TUDUM 2023, all has been quiet regarding what we can expect, with the show being one of many that were caught up with the two Hollywood strikes that took place throughout 2023. With production just around the corner following the conclusion of those strikes, however, we’ve just learned a few tidbits about the forthcoming season.
Cobra Kai season 6 will have 10 episodes and an expanded runtime
Let’s begin with the first major confirmation. Episode count. Like all seasons up until now, season 6 will consist of 10 episodes in total.
But there’s more!
Although there are only going to be ten episodes like all prior seasons, we can expect an expanded runtime, with Hayden Schlossberg (one of the showrunners) saying, “10 episodes but the total runtime for the full season will be the longest.”
In another question about the episode runtime, someone by the name of Dylan asked, “Will the last episode be long?” to which Schlossberg replied, “Yes.”
Cobra Kai Season 6 Aiming for a 2024 Release
In two replies to fans on a potential release date, Schlossberg stated numerous times that they were hoping for a 2024 release window. In one reply, he told a fan, “We’re trying to get it out ASAP,” while another stated that 2024 “is the goal.”
Filming is expected to begin very early in 2024, with Jon Hurwitz recently telling a fan that he’s “Excited to start filming Season 6 in a couple of weeks!” on December 18th. That suggests filming will get underway from the first week of January 2024.
Not many other tidbits of information dropped, but we did learn the new dojo name will be revealed early on in season 6, specifically in episode 1, and that there’s a “good chance” that the remaining kids from Silver’s Cobra Kai will join Miyagi-Fang.
