Crikey, it runs in the family! Steve Irwin’s son-in-law Chandler Powell recreates his iconic croc-feeding pose

Chandler Powell shocked fans on Thursday by sharing some photos of him feeding a crocodile at Australia Zoo exactly like his late father-in-law Steve Irwin used to.

The conservationist, 26, posted a gallery of pictures to Instagram capturing him in khakis in the crocodile pen very carefully feeding a giant crocodile.

The Florida born reality star looks fearless in the eye-popping snaps as he skillfully feeds the hungry reptile from a distance.

‘Few croc feeding shots from Australia Zoo. Such an honor to help teach guests about these amazing animals. Hope to see you!’ he wrote next to the photos.

Chandler’s fans were quick to point out he looked exactly like Steve when he fed crocs back in the early 2000s.

‘You have helped to carry on Steve’s legacy!’ one fan gushed.

‘Steve would be so proud of you Chandler,’ another follower added.

Chandler first met Steve’s daughter Bindi in 2013, when the American former wakeboarder went on a guided tour of Australia Zoo in Queensland.

Following their chance meeting, Chandler wrote to Terri to ask her permission to contact Bindi before they embarked on a long-distance relationship.

He eventually relocated to Australia from his home in Florida, and now works at the family’s zoo on the Gold Coast.

The couple married on March 25, 2020 and welcomed their daughter Grace Warrior on their first wedding anniversary.

Bindi and Chandler, and her brother Robert and mother Terri Irwin, are proudly carrying on her late father Steve Irwin’s legacy as a Wildlife Warrior and conservationist with their work at Australia Zoo.

Steve, who was known around the world as ‘the Crocodile Hunter’, was fatally pierced in the chest by a stingray barb in September 2006, when Bindi was eight years old.
