New Delhi, February 27 (IANS) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted India’s growth trajectory at the ‘Viksit Bharat@ 2047 Conclave’. He emphasized on the importance of strong macroeconomic fundamentals, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs in driving the country’s progress over the past decade.
Speaking at the event organized by FICCI, Goyal urged Indian industry leaders to contribute towards expanding domestic manufacturing and making India a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He stressed on the need to promote ‘vocal for local’ and focus on job creation, service sector growth, and tourism development to further boost the economy.
Goyal underlined the significance of increased foreign investments, India’s 3D vision of democracy, demography, and demand, in propelling the economy forward. He also highlighted the country’s potential as a preferred destination for investment and sourcing hub for global demand, emphasizing on the role of aspirational India in driving manufacturing industry growth.
The Minister pointed out India’s strides in renewable energy, automobile, electrical, and electronic manufacturing sectors. He mentioned the nation’s focus on doubling manufacturing capacities in the construction sector, developing a semiconductor industry, and promoting shipbuilding to boost goods manufacturing within the country. Goyal also emphasized India’s role in global value chains and its potential to serve global needs with high-quality and affordable production.
