The politicization of the judicial process in America is sadly not relegated to Donald Trump alone, and questions swirled about whether U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) may be charged for her actions at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theater in Denver — as ridiculous as that would be.
Boebert was booted from a performance of “Beetlejuice: The Musical” last Sunday after being accused of vaping, singing, recording with her phone, and “causing a disturbance.” The incident took on additional scrutiny when surveillance video showed Boebert and her date getting handsy when the lights were low. She also appeared to flip off someone while being escorted out. All of which prompted omnipotent moral busybodies on the left to denounce the scandalous behavior.
On that note, Denver officials admonished Rep. Boebert on Tuesday for her “inappropriate” behavior but declined to press charges, the New York Post reported.
“While Congresswoman Boebert’s conduct in the theater was clearly inappropriate and disrespectful, we concluded that it does not warrant a criminal prosecution,” a Denver District Attorney’s Office spokesperson told the newspaper.
Former Denver Chief Deputy District Attorney Craig Silverman told the Post that pressing charges for public indecency and vaping indoors is a matter of “prosecutorial discretion.”
“As you exercise prosecutorial discretion, you first have to think, ‘This is a petty offense and maybe we should just let it go,’” Silverman said. “And then you realize that there are potentially several offenses combined with horrible behavior while leaving — which could cause a reasonable prosecutor to say, ‘This is worthy of filing a criminal case.’”
The congresswoman apologized for her actions in the theater, attributing her poor judgment to a difficult split with her husband of 18 years — Boebert filed for divorce in May, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
“There’s no perfect blueprint for going through a public and difficult divorce, which over the past few months has made for a challenging personal time for me and my entire family. I’ve tried to handle it with strength and grace as best I can, but I simply fell short of my values on Sunday,” she said in part.
TMZ caught up with Boebert on Monday and she told the outlet that “all future date nights have been canceled.”

“I learned to check party affiliations before you go on a date,” she said, in an apparent reference to her date, bar owner Quinn Gallagher.
“Nothing to do with anything that anyone reported. Honestly, he’s a private citizen and we peacefully parted,” Boebert added. “Great man, great friend and I wish him all the best.”
