Did Kamala Harris Fail Her Bar Exam: What to Know?

Did Kamala Harris Fail Her Bar Exam? The matter was first raised in 2020 when she was a presidential candidate.

The matter was once again raked up by Donald Trump on Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.

Trump claimed that Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris had failed her law exam.

The narrative was stated during an interaction with Semafor reporter Kaida Goba.

Goba had asked Trump if he would step down if he felt he was unable to discharge his duties if elected.

Trump did not answer the question but instead challenged Kamala Harris, who is 19 years younger, to take a cognitive test.

Trump said,

“She failed her bar exam. She did not pass her bar exam, so maybe she would not pass the cognitive test. She did not pass her bar exam, and she did not think she would pass it, and she did not think she would ever pass it, and I don’t know what happened.”

Did Kamala Harris Fail Her Bar Exam?

The truth is Harris did not clear the California bar exam on her first attempt, a fact which she herself acknowledged.

However, she later passed the exam and was admitted to the California Bar the year after she finished law school in 1990.

She went on to serve as a prosecutor in California and later became the state’s Attorney General.

The bar exam is the qualifying exam that must be passed by all lawyers to obtain a license to practice law in a given state.

The latest claims were followed by a slew of disparaging attacks on the Vice President during the interview.

Trump also questioned Kamala Harris’ heritage and said that the Vice President always talked about her Indian lineage but suddenly she started to talk about her Black background.

Trump said,

“I’ve known her a long time, indirectly, not directly very much, and she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”

Donald Trump also claimed that Harris was a “DEI” candidate and when Rachel Scott of ABC News repeated his previous derogatory statements about the Black community, he called her rude.

Trump’s interview was supposed to last for 60 minutes but ended within 30 minutes with Scott closing the interview and stating that they have to leave it there, by the Trump team.

The California bar exam is one of the most difficult exams and has a pass percentage of around 50%. Harris graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1989.
