Donald Trump Disapproves Project 2025 And Said-“I have nothing to do with them”

Project 2025, which envisages a massive proposed overhaul of the federal government and was the brainchild of longtime allies of Donald Trump, did not find support from the former president, who has distanced himself from the project. Trump said, “I have nothing to do with them.”

Interestingly, the project was mooted by longtime allies and former officials in Trump’s administration who labeled the program as the second American Revolution.

Trump wrote on his social media platform:

“I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of their ideas, which I find ridiculous and abysmal. Whatever they do, I wish them luck, but I am not involved.”

Donald Trump had himself drafted a new plan that would overhaul the government machinery if he won the second term.

Project 2025 envisages a massive increase in Presidential powers and also involves a plan to fire more than 50,000 government workers and replace them with Trump loyalists.

Project 2025 has become the center of discussion during President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, especially after the disastrous live debate with Donald Trump on TV.

Trump’s vision is also no different and involves the largest deportation process of illegal immigrants in the history of the US.

It also involves many controversial moves like imposing tariffs on potentially all imports.

Trump’s campaign also cautioned allies not to assume to speak for the former president and instead asked them to come fully in support and not to play the waiting game.

Meanwhile, in another development, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts said on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast Tuesday that the Republicans are turning the clock back for the US.

The show itself was hosted by Former U.S. Rep. Dave Brat of Virginia because Bannon was serving a four-month prison term.

Roberts said,

“We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be,”

The comments have been derided by the Democrats and in a statement, the Biden campaign has charged Trump and his allies with planning a violent revolution that will destroy the very idea of America.

The people involved in Project 2025 include Paul Dans, the former chief of staff at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management under Trump. Other prominent personalities associated with the project include Russ Vought, who was director of the Office of Management and Budget under Trump, and John McEntee, a former director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.

A spokesperson for the Project 2025 said,

“We are a coalition of more than 110 conservative groups advocating policy and personnel recommendations for the next conservative president. But it is ultimately up to that president, who we believe will be President Trump, to decide which recommendations to implement.”

The Democrats, however, feel that the plan will wreck the democratic checks and balances that are in place and will concentrate power in the Oval Office.

Biden’s re-election campaign said on its website,

“Trump’s campaign advisors and close allies wrote it — and are doing everything they can to elect him so he can execute their playbook immediately.”
