Donald Trump Rally Shooter Thomas Crooks Described as Quiet and Non-Violent: Family Reacts with Shock and Disbelief
Thomas Crooks, the suspect who opened fire at the former US President Donald Trump was not a hot-headed, ideologically indoctrinated killer.
In stark contrast, he was described by persons who were around him as a quiet and non-violent person to the point that some even called him a sissy who was often the victim of bullying in school.

Meanwhile, as the political climate in the US has reached a boil, Crook’s family are still grappling with the truth and trying to figure out what tipped this mild-mannered and quiet teenager to do the unthinkable, attempt to kill the former US President.
Thomas Matthew Crooks’ father was talking to a media house over the phone and had only this to say,
“what the hell is going on”.
He said that he was trying to figure it out and would give a response only after he had talked to the law enforcement agencies about his son’s actions.
The shooter’s uncle Mark Crooks who was talking to a media house said that the incident was a big shock to the family.
The 68-year-old said,
“I don’t know what to say. I haven’t seen the kid since he was little. He never wanted to bother, so we don’t see him,”
Crook’s ex-classmates said that Thomas Crooks ‘couldn’t shoot at all’ in school’s rifle team, made ‘crass jokes,’
The shooter’s parents Matthew and Mary Crooks are both behavioral counselors.
Thomas Crooks was 20 years old and this would have been the first presidential election he was eligible to vote in.
Crooks former classmates and neighbors told CNN said that he was a misfit in school and a quiet and aloof kid with little to no violent tendencies as a teenager.
As per Crook’s classmates, Thomas Crooks was a shy and reserved person who kept to himself. He also was not inclined toward politics and was a loner to the point that he was often bullied by other students at times.
One of his classmates said
“I was just, like, shocked — I just couldn’t believe he did something that bold, considering he was such a quiet and kept-to-himself kind of person,”.
Thomas Crooks used his AR-50 rifles which were registered in his father’s name to shoot multiple shots at former US President Donald Trump.
The former president survived the assassination attempt by the barrage of shots that killed one spectator and seriously injured two other spectators. Crooks was shot dead by the Secret Service personnel who were protecting the former President.
