Drake just released his brand new album For all the Dogs and fans are obsessed with Virginia Beach, which contains a sample from Frank Ocean.
It’s the rapper’s eighth studio album, following 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss. Drake has now announced he is taking a year-long break from music due to stomach issues.

Drake uses Frank Ocean sample on Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach is the first song and uses a sample of Frank Ocean’s Wiseman, a 2012 track that was never officially released.
The American singer’s voice can be heard in the first verse with the opening line: “I bet your mother would be so proud of you.”
Drake’s voice then comes in, rapping: “I know what you say/ You say I coulda treated you better or whatever, but/ I don’t know, I think I did alright.”
“Know what I’m sayin’?/ And you know how you get/ Drawin’ conclusions like you got a Parsons degree or somethin’/ I coulda treated you better, that’s crazy,” he continues.
The song was supposed to be in a big movie
Wiseman was supposed to be in the 2012 movie Django Unchained but was cut by director Quentin Tarantino.
“Frank Ocean wrote a fantastic ballad that was truly lovely and poetic in every way, there just wasn’t a scene for it,” Tarantino said.
“I could have thrown it in quickly just to have it, but that’s not why he wrote it and not his intention. So I didn’t want to cheapen his effort,” he continued.
“But, the song is fantastic, and when Frank decides to unleash it on the public, they’ll realize it then.”
The musician performed a punk rock remix of Wiseman at Coachella 2023 which went down a treat with fans.
