Elon Musk Announces Demonetization of Streamer Destiny on X After Controversial Posts About Murder Victim Corey Comperatore
Elon Musk has said that he will demonetize streamer Destiny, aka Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, after he made some caustic and hateful posts about the victim Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the assassination attempt on Donald Trump during the former president’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Elon Musk Demonetizes Streamer Destiny on X Over Corey Comperatore Posts
After Comperatore was identified as a murder victim by the Pennsylvania State Police at the former President Donald Trump’s campaign event, Destiny made several posts that can be labeled as highly objectionable.
Most of the posts have been removed by X for violating the platform’s rules.
Destiny wrote, “This is the f***ing retard that got killed at the Trump rally? Fing LMAOOOOO.”
In another post, he wrote, “I’m sure Corey and Babbit are both having fun with each other in hell right now.”
In another post, he wrote, “Don’t you mean the bleachers he wanted to die on?”
All the posts were compiled together by an X user @dom_lucre and were posted with a question to X owner Elon Musk,
“Dear Elon Musk, why are there ads on TheOmniLiberal profile? I believe this page is now in violation of the ‘Hate or Extremist Content and Sensitive Content’ section of X standards. This means his account should be permanently suspended from the X ads revenue sharing program.”
Musk responded, “You’re right, this is not appropriate content for advertisers.”
Destiny then replied to Musk’s post, writing, “The free speech advocate himself has arrived. What happened to ‘f*** advertisers,’ eh?”
Most of the remarks made by Destiny bordered on ableist slurs, especially deplorable since they were used to describe a person who passed away.
Corey Comperatore fell on his family to protect them from the hail of bullets fired by the shooter at the former president.
Destiny wrote, “If I have offended anyone with my recent tweets, I would like to make things right. DM me, and I will buy you front-row seats for the next Trump rally.”
The controversial Twitch creator Destiny is an ardent proponent of liberalism and took great pride in what he touts as his belief in the ideals of liberalism, such as liberty and equality, while at the same time imbibing the best elements of other ideologies pragmatically.
He further wrote that a person in the crowd was cheering for a traitor and got a stray bullet and he is very sorry for it.
Destiny also made a comparison of the victim with the victims in the ongoing conflict in Gaza and stated that the Palestinians were worth 100X more respect.
