Elon Musk Supports Donald Trump, Makes ‘Sizeable’ Donation To His Campaign

Elon Musk, South African Immigrant Supports Donald Trump Despite His Anti-Immigration Policies And Views, Makes 'Sizeable' Donation To Donald Trump's Campaign

Both Elon Musk and Donald Trump are alike as chalk and cheese. On one hand, we have Elon Musk, a South African immigrant to the US, and on the other hand, we have Donald Trump, who is standing for the upcoming Presidential poll, well known for his anti-immigration policies and views. And the news is Elon Musk made a ‘sizable’ donation to Donald Trump’s campaign.

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and X chairperson, is a known critic of Joe Biden. Still, he had on numerous occasions made it clear that he would not be contributing money to either Trump or Biden’s election campaign.

He wrote on X,

“Just to be super clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for US President.”

Elon Musk Makes ‘Sizeable’ Donation To Donald Trump, Bloomberg report

However, Elon Musk has made a huge contribution to a political group working to elect Republican Donald Trump to the White House, according to a Bloomberg report. The exact amount which Elon Musk contributed is unclear but unconfirmed sources say that the amount is sizable.

Trump has already left Joe Biden far behind in fundraising.

Make America Great Again Inc., a leading super PAC, said it had raised $104 million during the second quarter of 2024. In the past three months, Trump’s campaign, together with the Republican National Committee, has been able to raise $331 million while, in comparison, President Biden’s re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee reportedly raised $264 million.

Musk has made a huge U-turn and has contributed funds to a group called America PAC (political action committee). We will know the exact amount when the PAC will disclose its list of donors on Monday, July 15.

The news comes in the midst of reports that Joe Biden is lagging behind in attracting funds for his forthcoming election campaign especially after his disastrous national live debate with Trump on Television. The debate saw Trump dominating the proceedings with Biden faltering and sometimes left speechless against Trump’s boisterous diatribe. Post the debate debacle, many of Biden’s detractors, including members from his Democratic Party, are questioning the health and mental ability of the U.S. President.

Trump is likely to be nominated as the Republican Party’s candidate for the November 5 US polls. Trump had a meeting with Musk and other donors in March. At that time, Musk had denied the media reports but did say that he might serve in the role as an advisor if Trump becomes President.

Biden’s campaign spokesperson James Singer has said,

“Musk knows Trump is a sucker who will sell America out, cutting his taxes while raising taxes on the middle class by $2,500. Joe Biden has been standing up to people like Elon and fighting for the middle class his entire career — and it’s why he’ll win in November.”

Musk in recent times has become increasingly vocal about his political views on platform X. Musk had also derided President Joe Biden’s immigration policies. He also gave his strong support for conservative positions by throwing his massive social media clout behind the Conservative ‘influencers.’ Musk had also visited the US-Mexico border at Eagle Pass, Texas, and had termed the immigration situation as ‘beyond insane and growing fast.’

He also took on the Biden Administration post the tragic killing of Augusta University nursing student Laken Riley in Athens, Georgia, by an undocumented migrant.

Musk had commented on X:

“Dems won’t deport, because every illegal is a highly likely vote at some point. That simple incentive explains what seems to be insane behavior. It has become so brazen that a gang of illegals can beat up police officers on camera in Times Square, get out of jail for free and still not get deported!
