Haikyuu paid tribute to One Piece with a hidden reference but only hardcore fans noticed it

Haruichi Furudate did not hesitate to show his admiration for One Piece by leaving various subtle tributes in Haikyuu!!.

One Piece is one of the most-watched animes of all time and the craze for the manga continues to grow even in 2023. Unsurprisingly, manga lovers are not the only ones who love the anime dearly. Haikyuu!!’s author, Haruichi Furudate has paid subtle tributes to the story in his manga that only a few viewers might be aware of.

One Piece cameo in Haikyuu!! explored

In Haikyuu!!, Shoyo Hinata is shown to be obsessed with One Piece, Right from having the collection of all volumes on his bookshelves to declaring Roronoa Zoro as his favorite character, Hinata is certain about his likes.

Those who are interested to see it for themselves can view Chapter 370 of the manga. The cameo does not come as a surprise as many manga and animes are known to bring characters from other shows.

For instance, the characters of Attack on Titan once made a cameo in a well-known Chinese anime.

Haikyuu!! anime to release a new movie

The official Japanese website for the Haikyuu!! confirmed that the anime will be getting a final theatrical movie. Prior to the announcement, there had been rumors suggesting Haikyuu!! would be getting a fifth season.

However, it looks like the production house has decided to go for a two-part movie instead. At the moment, it is unclear when the movie will be released.

Nonetheless, just like all the other seasons, fans can expect the new movie to come with some groundbreaking visuals while covering the rematch between Karasuno and Nekoma.
