“The Young and the Restless” paid tribute to late star Billy Miller during Thursday’s episode.

At the end of the latest episode, a black-and-white photo of Miller appeared on the screen. “In loving memory,” the message read. “1979-2023.”

The official Twitter account for the CBS soap opera also shared the montage. “To end today’s episode we paid tribute to a greatly missed member of the Y&R family,” the statement read on the site, now known as X. “Billy Miller will forever be in our hearts. ❤️”

Miller died at age 43 in Austin, Texas, on Sept. 15. That Sunday would have marked his 44th birthday.

The Emmy winner’s mother, Patrica Miller, would later release a statement of her own, revealing his cause of death.

“He fought a long, hard, valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease,” Patricia said in a statement to Soap Opera Digest. “He loved his family, his friends and his fans, but in the end, the disease won the fight, and he surrendered his life.”

She concluded: “We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss,” she concluded. “I will have nothing further to say. Thanks for the love and support.”

Miller was best known for appearing on “The Young and the Restless,” which landed him three Daytime Emmys, “General Hospital” “NCIS,” and “Suits.” His former “Suits” costar Gabriel Macht was one of many fellow actors to pay tribute.
