As the election dates for the US Presidential race are getting nearer, the rhetoric of both the parties gets shriller and often borders on falsehood.
Recently a story came out of a San Francisco media outlet and it alleged that Republican Presidential hopeful, Kamala Harris hit two pedestrians with her car in San Francisco.
The aftermath of the accident left the mother and her young daughter injured and the child became disabled for life.
Allegations of 2011 Hit-and-Run Involving Kamala Harris Emerge from Bogus News Site
It was a completely baseless story whose source was a website which was registered in August 2024.
The baseless story came from an alleged website called San Francisco television station with the call sign KBSF. Soon netizens started sharing the story on X.
The story described how in June 2011 Kamala Harris struck two pedestrians with her car and drove away in an apparent hit-and-run incident in San Francisco.
One of the victims whose name is Alisha Brown, decided to make the story public.
She also stated that after the accident, Harris’ men threatened her mother and instructed her not to report the incident to the police.
The incident happened 13 years ago and it is now after her mother’s death that Alisha decided to tell her story.
There are several loopholes in the story.
The first is the fact that KBSF is not a legitimate news outlet and was registered only in August 2024.
Also there is no KBSF television station in San Francisco or anywhere else in the United States.
Hence the story that Kamala Harris was involved in a hit-and-run accident is based on an anonymous and overtly deceptive website.
The reader’s added context section with the screenshot of the KBSF-TV article states that the post is a complete fabrication.
The post also contained the x-ray images which depict the damage to Ms Brown which left her crippled.
However, an google image search revealed that the images were lifted from a 12-year-old case published in an open-access journal.
Kamala Harris was a resident of San Francisco and also served as the attorney general of California.
She was also the senator from California and went on to become the Vice President under the Joe Biden administration.
