Kerala Rapper Hanumankind Faces Racism After His ‘Big Dawgs’ Becomes A Huge Hit Globally
Hanumankind is a hip-hop rapper from Kerala.
Hanuman recently released a new music video online titled ‘Big Dawgs,’ which within 3 weeks has garnered over 9.2 views.
Many people also tagged the song as the song of the summer, and it reached the top spot as the number-one bop track.

The song is produced under Kalmi Records by Brown Crew Production, and the video gained more and more likes due to its carnival attractions, which included the Well of death, a site where motorcyclists perform on vertical walls.
The song is such a hot hit that it got appreciation from ‘Pigeons and Planes,’ and even DJ Akademiks shared it on Instagram to speak highly of it.

However, this is where things go haywire. Even though the song is nice and is receiving praise, it is also receiving tons of hate comments.
People are using racist comments and Hanuman’s Indian origin to deride it. There are mean comments from some like they didn’t know Indians could speak English, or that they can smell them from afar.

This seems mostly because hip-hop tracks are very Americanized, and when a person of a different origin tries to claim it, they face stereotypical racist comments.

Many comments also share that Hanumankind tried to copy Project Pat’s song ‘Knife Talk’ in this song, but in reality, Hanumankind paid homage to Project Pat in the song.
Project Pat also acknowledged the song and added it to his Instagram story, but it didn’t lead to anything good or fruitful.
The song continued to receive backlash and lots of racist comments.
