Killers of the Flower Moon, the upcoming historical epic from Martin Scorsese, may set a new record for the director. Based on the book by David Grann, Scrosese’s new movie chronicles the grisly Osage Nation murders and accompanying investigation that took place in the 1920s following the discovery of oil in Northeastern Oklahoma. The Killers of the Flower Moon cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone, with the movie already earning rave reviews.

Now, ahead of the Killers of the Flower Moon release date, The Numbers reports that the film is expected to open on 3,500 screens in North America. This would set a new record for Scorsese, with The Departed holding the previous record at 3,017 screens domestically in 2006.
