My Demon Episode 10 Recap and Review Gu-won's Bold Challenge to God

The episode starts with a conversation between Gu-won and God. Gu-won confronts God about why she is making humans suffer, but she explains that their fate is not in her hands. She just set some basic rules for humans; what humans choose completely depends on themselves.

On the other hand, Ga-young discloses Gu-won’s identity to Seok-hoon and even suggests that Gu-won is seducing Do-hee to do his bidding. This prompts Seok-hoon to do some more research on Gu-won and about the deals he makes. Later, we see Seok-min having a flashback about the day he first met Do-hee. Outside, his son is seen to have an exact replica of his father’s phone, proving that he has been tracking his father’s exchanges with the killer all this time.

At their house, Gu-won and Do-hee spend some quality time together, and Do-hee makes a cake for him to commemorate his birthday as they do not know the exact date.

They have a heartfelt conversation where Gu-won asks Do-hee what she will do if she knows the world will end the next day. Do-hee’s simple answer to this question was she would like to spend the last day with him. Perhaps that is why he tells Do-hee not to sleep that night and spend the night awake with him. Gu-won then visits God and challenges her by saying he will choose both himself and Do-hee – he will prove God wrong and find a way to save both of them together.

Back in his house, Gu-won proposes that he and Do-hee go to Sokcho, the place where he lost his powers to Do-hee. Do-hee becomes excited, thinking this can be a nice honeymoon getaway without knowing the full picture. Elsewhere, Seok-min is very suspicious of his son’s behaviour and of his phone.

In his office, Gu-won tells Bok-gyu about what God said and that there can be a situation where he might not return, and Bok-gyu unwillingly tells everything to Ga-young. She rushes to Do-hee, and not only does she reveal all of the secrets to her, but also gives her poison so that she can sacrifice herself. She tells Do-hee to die so that Gu-won can survive. Thankfully, at that moment, Gu-won arrives and reprimands Ga-young for sticking her nose in his life.

Distraught, Do-hee goes away, and thinks about their situation and finally comes to a decision. She meets Gu-won and tells him that they will try, till the very end, to transfer the tattoo in a way that can keep both of them alive. Then, they decide to make the journey to Sokcho. On the other hand, Ga-young meets Seok-hoon and tells him only half truths, making him follow Gu-won and Do-hee so that she can prevent Gu-won’s death.

Simultaneously, we see Seok-min becoming the chairman of the company. Oddly, his son is absent from the event, and we get to know that before the ceremony, Seok-min finds Do-gyeong snooping on him and mercilessly punishes him for that. To prove himself and maybe out of frustration, Do-gyeong decides to follow Do-hee to finish everything.

When Gu-won and Do-hee stop at a gas station, Do-gyeong slams his car towards Do-hee, who is inside the gas station’s convenience store, effectively blowing it up. This entire scene is witnessed by Gu-won, along with Seok-hoon and Ga-young, who reaches just in time. Gu-won, without caring about his own situation, goes right into the fire to save Do-hee, and even he succumbs to the fire, only managing to touch Do-hee’s hands at the last moment. Somehow, just then, his tattoo comes back to him, and he regains full power, managing to save not only himself but also Do-hee.

My Demon Episode 10 Review

This episode was so chaotic that it was unbearable to watch our favourite couple burn to death and then see them alive and well. Truly, the makers know how to play with our emotions in that aspect.

Other than that, the character of Ga-young is really taking the cake for being the most annoying person in this series with her constant jealousy. But, hopefully, after today, we will have less tragedy and more romance as our demon is finally more powerful than ever.

The series is streaming on Netflix right now.
