My Man is Cupid Episode 5 Recap
In the fifth episode, Sang-hyuk starts suspecting that the serial killer who murdered Eun-seo might be the one involved in the death of Jeong-ah. Sang-hyuk starts to link the pieces and fix that the 1993 case is indeed done by the same killer who abducted Eun-seo and killed her. Note that Eun-seo’s corpse isn’t found and all the witnesses are murdered one by one as soon as Jae-hee or any detective interrogates. Since the recent witness was also found dead, the police worry and start to navigate cautiously.
Sang-hyuk who finds out that Jae-hee is involved in the case tells him the theory about the connection between the 1993 case and the current one but Jae-hee brushes it off saying that it’s fictional and not convincing. Determined to find the truth, Sang-hyuk proceeds on his own. Meanwhile, in the episode, we see how Baek-ryun falls harder for Sang-hyuk and keeps praying in the mountain for him to become her soulmate as he is the only man who doesn’t get hurt when he sticks by her side.
Sang-hyuk has also started catching feelings for Baek-ryun but denies his feelings and decides to only find a mate for her. He believes that ever since the tragic death of Jeong-ah, he might become the reason for another woman’s death if he falls in love with them. He searches for a partner but Baek-ryun gets tired of his actions. She builds up courage and confesses that she likes him. But our main lead simply breaks her heart by saying that he has no feelings for her and is finding a partner due to pity. His harsh words make Baek-ryun break down.
By the end of the fifth episode, Jae-hee and Sang-hyuk find out that Baek-ryun is the last witness in Eun-seo’s case and they rush to protect her. Baek-ryun goes to the mountain to finish her prayer for her soulmate. During the prayer, she feels someone behind her and panics, leading her to almost fall off the mountain. But thankfully, Jae-hee arrives on time and saves her. They both return to the police station where they see Sang-hyuk sitting with bruises all over him (caused by his master when Sang-hyuk tried to fight).
Unaware of the reason behind his bruises, Baek-ryun starts treating him making Jae-hee feel extremely jealous. Both the guys then decide to take Baek-ryun back to her home safely but that’s when the love triangle’s effect starts. As the episode finishes, Jae-hee and Sang-hyuk ask Baek-ryun to choose one of them to go back home and she stands there perplexed not knowing what to do.
My Man is Cupid Episode 5 Review
The love triangle effect is working out very well. Of course, the second lead isn’t going to get Baek-ryun but he does deserve her given she was his soulmate in their past life. The serial killer is the same guy who murdered Jeong-ah and this makes the plot even more interesting as all three of them who were connected in their past life once again are joined in this present life (Sang-hyuk hasn’t re-incarnated, he’s 500 years old).
Their pursuit finding the killer will be interesting and the romance that will bloom between all three will also captivate. Baek-ryun might give Jae-hee a chance as Sang-hyuk has declined her but this will make Sang-hyuk jealous and he will fight for her. He will also learn that Baek-ryun is the re-incarnation of the maid, making his feelings even more stronger.
