Ninja Kamui Episode 2 Overview
Ninja Kamui is a captivating Japanese anime series brought to life by E&H Production and Sola Entertainment, with a touch of executive flair from Williams Street. Making its debut on Adult Swim’s Toonami lineup in February 2024, this show has been eagerly anticipated since its announcement in May 2022. Steering the series is director Sunghoo Park, while the iconic character designs come from Takashi Okazaki.
Ninja Kamui first got everyone buzzing when Adult Swim dropped a teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2023. Other than that, the video game version of Ninja Kamui, called Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins, is set to come out in the second quarter of 2024.
The theme song, “Vengeance,” by Coldrain, sets the stage as the opening of the show.

Ninja Kamui Episode 2 Review and Recap: An Untouchable Organization
This new anime dropped out of nowhere, and with only two episodes, it has already become one of my favorites, this season. The first episode absolutely shocked the audience with the action, mystery, and drama, and thankfully, they managed to keep the intrigue even in the second episode.
Here, we finally understand what is actually happening and who are the people who killed our protagonist’s entire family. What we are dealing with, is an organization that trains ninjas who used to run Japan. They did not let their secret techniques out of their clan, but with changing times, they started accepting foreigners as well. But, one thing was absolute in the organization, no one can ever leave it.
If anyone defects or even tries to lead a normal life somewhere else, they will be hunted and exterminated. And this is exactly what happened with Joe Logan or Higan, who had been living with his wife and child in an American village with technologically advanced masks to hide their identities.
This episode turned the entire narrative around and made the victim the main predator. Higan is now on the loose, actively searching for the killers who caused his misery. He will stop at nothing before he can exact revenge on the clan he once served. But things are not as easy.
This ninja organization has ties with the government, and they can suppress any news and any investigations at any point. They are powerful not just physically, but also politically, thus, it will be especially difficult for Higan to survive on his own, without any help.
The best aspect of this anime is how well the fight scenes are choreographed and planned. It is not too much and does not hinder the plot of the show. We get a good amount of information from this episode, along with a very healthy dose of high-paced fight and gore. If you are squirmish with blood, it might seem a bit too much, but the bloodshed actually makes the anime way cooler and grittier than anything you have seen In this season.
Other than that, the music design is also really good, as the rap part during the fight scenes sets the mood appropriately. Even the opening and ending themes go really well with the nature of the anime. All in all, this is a pretty solid series that needs to be on your watch list.
Verdict
I love this episode and am eagerly waiting for the next one. If you are someone who wants to see something new and fresh, then go for this right away. The director of this show also directed Jujutsu Kaisen, so you already can imagine how well the action scenes are animated. The pace of the show is also masterfully maintained, and I hope they keep it like this, till the end.
