NO Google search results for Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump! Republicans  Fear ‘Election Interference?’

If you are looking for the latest information on Google about the assassination attempt on the former president of the USA, Donald Trump, you are in for a big surprise. Google has skipped the search results for Donald Trump’s assassination attempt.

It has led to serious concerns among the Republicans if the search engine giant is in for some mischief and interfering in the upcoming US presidential elections.

Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump

Users were surprised when they searched for information on the failed July 13 assassination attempt on Trump; Google seems to have omitted any mentions of the unsuccessful shooting bid on the former US President.

Users are questioning if the tech giant is trying to manipulate the 2024 US presidential elections.

Donald Trump Jr. and Republicans accused the Sundar Pichai-led tech company of meddling in the election process.

Donald Trump Jr. in a post on X (formerly Twitter), wrote,

“Big Tech is trying to interfere in the election AGAIN to help Kamala Harris. We all know this is intentional election interference from Google. Truly despicable.”

An investigation by Fox News into multiple screenshots from users globally who searched for an assassination attempt on Trump, revealed that the search suggestions threw up diverse historical events like the failed assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, the murder of Archduke Ferdinand, the shooting of Bob Marley, and the foiled plot against former President Gerald Ford instead of the most recent incident involving the assassination attempt on the former US President.

Tesla chief Elon Musk, who is supporting Donald Trump, also shared a post on X with a screenshot of Google search results which failed to show any suggestions of the former US President when he typed “President Donald.” Musk captioned the post with a cryptic text

“Wow, Google has a search ban on President Donald Trump! Election interference?”

With US President Joe Biden announcing that he is quitting the November 2024 presidential election race and has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the top post, the contest for the top executive post has become keener.

Former President Donald Trump is attempting to return to the White House and is slightly ahead of Kamala Harris as per opinion polls, but the gap is narrowing.

Former President Trump is loudly professing on social media that he took a bullet for democracy. The latest updates on Google search tools have intensified the debate and given strength to Trump’s conspiracy theories.

A Google spokesman has told The New York Post that no manual adjustments have been made to the search suggestions.

He added that the systems have safeguards to prevent autocomplete suggestions related to political violence.

However, users have pointed out that this does not seem to apply when searches were made for other assassination attempts in the past on political figures such as Teddy Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan.

Google said,

“We’re working on improvements to ensure our systems are more up-to-date. Of course, Autocomplete is just a tool to help people save time, and they can still search for anything they want to. Following this terrible act, people turned to Google to find high-quality information– we connected them with helpful results, and will continue to do so.”
