North Texas Woman Staci Blackmon Sentenced to 35 Years for Stealing $1.2 Million

Staci Blackmon, a North Texas resident, was recently sentenced to 35 years in prison after pleading guilty to theft involving over $1.2 million.

Her crime spree, which began in 2020, involved embezzling funds from her former employer’s bank account, leading to two separate charges of theft.

What did Staci Blackmon do?

Staci Blackmon primarily used the stolen money to purchase TikTok coins, a virtual currency used for tipping content creators during live streams, which can be converted into real money.

In addition to the TikTok coins, Blackmon’s extravagant spending included a luxury suite at a Dallas Mavericks game, lavish vacations, and home furnishings.

Authorities uncovered her criminal activity following an investigation by the Southlake Police Department, which eventually led to her arrest in 2022.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s office confirmed that Blackmon was sentenced to two 35-year sentences, to be served concurrently.

The stolen funds were funnelled into TikTok coins, which are typically purchased in bundles for a variety of prices, starting from $0.84.

These coins can be used to send gifts during live streams, helping boost content visibility for creators.

Beyond the in-app purchases, Staci Blackmon indulged in luxury goods and experiences, making her spending spree stand out even more.
