Today, Netflix has officially opened a casting call for the fan-favorite sassy blind earthbender Toph in Netflix’s next season of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Jenny Jue of Downtown Casting has taken over casting duties from the original casting directors Colloff/Nicolo Casting for the upcoming season. Ironically, Jenny also cast the voice of Toph for the upcoming Avatar Studios feature film about Avatar Aang. That role eventually went to voice actress Donnie Quan. We at Knight Edge Media (via Twitter) were informed in April that casting would begin sometime in the next few months, and the streaming service will indeed be open to casting any actress who is blind or has low vision like the character originally does in the animated series. Production is expected to begin sometime in Q3 of this year and will run back-to-back, and film season 3 will also be back in Vancouver.

Avatar: The Last Airbender will return to Netflix sometime in 2026
