Pakistan court indicts Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi in graft case

Islamabad, Feb 27 (IANS) An accountability court in Pakistan indicted former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in a Rs 50 million graft case. They both denied the charges framed by Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana, who deferred the matter till March 6.

The case involves the settlement of about Rs 50 billion, sent to Pakistan by the UK’s National Crime Agency after recovering the amount from property tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain. The money was allegedly misappropriated by Imran Khan during his tenure as prime minister.

Imran Khan is the main accused in the case, with his wife Bushra Bibi and others including Shahzad Akbar, Zulfiqar Bukhari, Zia Mustafa, and Farah Shazadi as co-accused. The Express Tribune reported on the indictment and denial by the accused parties.
