A Russian Sukhoi-27 fighter jet intercepted three French military planes near the Russian border over the Black Sea, as reported by the Russian Defence Ministry. The incident occurred as the Russian fighter was dispatched to intercept the foreign aircraft detected by Russian radars.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the Su-27 fighter was sent from the air defence forces on duty after detecting three air targets approaching the Russian state border over the Black Sea. The French planes were identified as an E-3F long-range radar detection and control aircraft, along with two Rafale-C multipurpose fighters of the French air and space forces.
Upon the approach of the Russian fighter jet, the foreign military aircraft made a U-turn from Russia’s state border and exited the airspace over the Black Sea. The ministry confirmed that there was no violation of the Russian border during the incident, ensuring the security of the country’s airspace was maintained.
