Tati Westbrook Lawsuit Settled, Exits Halo Beauty, Plans to Relaunch Beauty Brand
It is finally curtains on the legal tussle involving beauty guru Tati Westbrook, who has announced that the legal drama about her supplement and beauty brands has come to an end.
She also stated that since the legal issues have been sorted out, she plans to re-launch the Tati Beauty brand. The announcement was made on YouTube.
The Tati Westbrook lawsuit, which extended four years, led to the closure of beauty influencer Tati Westbrook’s makeup brand.
The Tati Westbrook Halo Beauty lawsuit was instituted by her former business partner Clark Swanson against the beauty influencer and her brand.
Tati Westbrook Settles Lawsuit
As a part of the settlement, she and her husband, James Westbrook, are stepping down from Halo Beauty.
In a video, she announced her plan to independently relaunch her makeup brand Tati Beauty.
Clark Swanson, her co-founder at the supplement brand Halo Beauty, on Oct. 20, 2020, had filed a lawsuit against Westbrooks, Halo Beauty, and her makeup label parent company Tati Cosmetics and accused her and her husband of fraud, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duty to Halo Beauty.
Westbrook, in an Aug. 1 video on her YouTube channel, talked about the lawsuit against her and her brands and said,
“The past four years are done. It’s over. It was settled on the phone without lawyers.”
Tati Beauty was closed in November 2021, and at that time, Tati had listed both the COVID-19 pandemic and the lawsuit as reasons for the shutdown.
Tati added that she will be moving on from Halo Beauty along with her husband and will refocus her energy on re-launching her makeup brand.
She also revealed her intention to start a fragrance brand, which she said she had been in the making with a trademarked name before the legal tangles got in the way.
She also stated that the settlement of the lawsuit will enable using her name on new brands without any legal issues.
Tati also said that the Tati Beauty re-launch will not involve outside business partners.
Tati said,
“I don’t want a partner in anything that I do.”
Tati Beauty’s original launch was effected in a partnership with Seed Beauty and was a point of contention in Swanson’s lawsuit.
