The Burial features an incredible soundtrack of toe-tapping tracks from the 1990s but which songs feature in the movie’s soundtrack?
Music can often be vital to the success of a film as the use of licensed songs or an original score can help to add just the right feeling to a scene. For a movie set in the 1990s such as Prime Video’s newest release, The Burial, the importance of music is key and so it should be no surprise that the film boasts a soundtrack of iconic 90s songs.

Who composed the score?
On top of its licensed songs, The Burial also features a charming cinematic score that is the work of composer Michael Abels.
Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Michael Abels was introduced to music at a young age as he used to play on the family piano and honed his talent at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles.
However, despite showing a keen interest in music from childhood, Michael only earned his first composing credit in 2017 at the age of 54 when he scored Jordan Peele’s debut movie, Get Out.
Both Get Out and Michael Abels’ score were hugely well-received and the composer returned to create the music for Peele’s next films, 2019’s Us and 2022’s Nope.
Aside from working with Jordan Peele, Michael Abels has also worked on the likes of HBO’s Bad Education, See You Yesterday, All Day and a Night, Nightbooks as well as Breaking.
To coincide with the arrival of The Burial, Michael Abels’ charming and woodwind-heavy score has been released on the likes of Spotify and Apple Music.
