The Crown creator says anticipated arrival ‘blows the doors off’ season 6

Created by Peter Morgan, The Crown is arguably one of the most notable prestige dramas to emerge from the 2010s, an achievement that cannot be overlooked. As it chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II and other Royals, audiences have been speculating how the series will conclude for some time now.

It has already been confirmed that The Crown will conclude with season 6, although it was recently announced that it’s been split into two parts. A teaser for the Netflix show’s return was recently unveiled and creatives aboard the project have already forecast what to expect from the last chapter, and yes, William, Kate and Harry are going to appear.

The Crown creator on William, Kate and Harry in season 6

Each season of The Crown covers a different time period, and the series has arrived at a point where we meet an older William and Harry.

As we’ll have an older William, we’ll also get time together with him and Catherine, Princess of Wales. Ed McVey will now play the Prince of Wales while Meg Bellamy is tackling the role of Kate amongst the cast. Luther Ford will also flex his acting talents to play an older Harry.

The Crown creator, Peter, previously teased just how impactful the trio’s presence will be in forthcoming episodes.

“In season 6, just the arrival of William and Kate and Harry is, so… It just blows the doors off, as it were, and you just wanna see them,” he explained on the official The Crown podcast.

Recalling how special it was seeing the actors offer their depictions, he added: “It happened in the read-through when we were reading, you could just see everyone was just looking up and looking at each other across the room. And every time William spoke it was like, ‘Oh my God, this is just riveting.’”

When does The Crown season 6 take place?

The final season of The Crown will cover the Royal Family timeline from the late 1990s to the early 2000s.

William and Kate first met at Scotland’s University of St. Andrews in 2001, where William was working for a geography degree and Kate was studying art history.

As for Harry, he met Meghan Markle in London in the summer of 2016. Ultimately, this means that The Crown won’t cover their romance. Nor will it cover Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in 2022.

The Crown season 6 part 1 release date

Part 1 will only be made up of four episodes in total. However, part 2 will round out the season with another six episodes on Thursday, December 14th 2023.
