The Kidnapping Day Episode 4 Recap
Episode 4 begins with Sang-yoon sharing his findings with those involved in the case, however, they are unable to understand why Ro-hee addressed her kidnapper as father. Meanwhile, finding out that Myung-joon had killed someone only worries them for the safety of the child.
The next day, Hye-eun asks the two to leave as it isn’t safe for them at her house while Myung-joon decides to surrender to the police alone. However, Ro-hee is not ready to settle this way and makes the choice to follow Hye-eun through the day and see whom she meets. Elsewhere, Sang-yoon’s colleague brings information that may help the case which was found in Choi Jin-tae’s records found at his house.
She tells him that the acronyms found in one of his notes have only been found together in one other case. Meanwhile, Ro-hee and Myung-joon are caught by Hye-eun at a hospital. Hye-eun reveals that she has HIV and was diagnosed before she made the decision to leave her husband years back.

She is now taking part in a clinical trial and hopes that this clears any misunderstanding that the two have towards her. Ro-hee asks her that she has just one question- why would her father abuse her and how? Hye-eun tells her that when looking around different hospitals for her daughter’s treatment she came across an experiment that was being conducted.
Ro-hee’s father had created the Genius Child Project and had been conducting experiments on her which is why she has several needle bruises on her arms. Her father had received enormous funding for the project as the experiment turned out to be a success, and it was the investment money that Hye-eun was after.
Meanwhile, Sang-yoon meets another person on the list of people who funded Choi Jin-tae’s research and tries to find the details of the same but gets nothing. However, the person they met calls another and informs them of Sang-yoon’s visit following which he tells them that they need to find Ro-hee as soon as possible.
Sang-yoon then tries to enquire about the people involved in Choi Jin-tae’s research with his colleague at the hospital but gets nothing, instead, he finds out that there may be a history between Choi Jin-tae and the CCTV company employee Park Cheol-won. Elsewhere, Ro-hee and Myung-joon continue to be on the run when she finds out that he has killed someone in the past.
She asks him about it but gets no answer which makes her assume that he killed her parents. Myung-joon tells her that he did not kill her parents and promises to not kill her when asked to do so by Ro-hee.
Myung-joon later tells her that he will be surrendering himself which shocks Ro-hee as she tells him that she cannot trust the cops and has no choice but to find the killer herself. She tells him that he is the only one whom she could trust but his attitude of wanting to surrender will only make it hard for her.
Seeing her cry in front of him, Myung-joo promises to take care of her and keep her safe for as long as he is with her. However, he soon finds himself to have been fooled when Ro-hee stands up like nothing happened and tells him to not go back on his words.
On the other hand, Park Cheol-won finds out about what the doctor told the police and goes back home with a normal attitude. But soon his expressions change as he takes out a hard disk and hides it as secretly as possible. Later, Sang-yoon receives a report about Ro-hee’s location and makes his way there with his team.

The Kidnapping Day Episode 4 Review
The Kidnapping Day episode 4 was another blast that has revealed secrets of the past which have changed our outlook on many characters. However, while the episode has whitewashed some characters and got us suspicious about the others, there is a possibility of this changing again and I have a feeling that my opinion right now may be proven wrong very soon.
However, the changing faces of these characters keep my interest high while the mindset of Myung-joon and Ro-hee keep me entertained. Altogether, the two are bringing me a treat and this is only getting better.
