One star from The Mandalorian has finally been able to celebrate their cameo in Ahsoka, and in doing so, they promise a positive future for Dave Filoni’s upcoming Star Wars live-action projects. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin has been a three-person team from the beginning, with actor Brendan Wayne stepping into the suit most often – especially for The Mandalorian season 3. Wayne was at last given the chance to offer his face to Star Wars in Ahsoka as X-wing pilot Lieutenant Lander, who flew alongside General Hera Syndulla, Captain Carson Teva, and more. He was even the one to pull Ahsoka from the depths of Seatos’ seas, and now, he’s celebrating his most recent Star Wars appearance.

Wayne has shared an image of his character, Lieutenant Lander, in his X-wing from Ahsoka episode 4, along with a caption that pays tribute to the creatives he worked most closely with for his appearance. He cites it as an “absolute dream” to play the X-wing pilot, with Paul Sun-Hyung Lee’s Teva as his commander being “icing on the cake.” In the last sentence of his tribute, Wayne praises Ahsoka creator Filoni with an optimistic look at the future, writing Filoni has only just begun to show his brilliance in live action.”

The Mandalorian Actor Teases Dave Filoni’s Live-Action Future

Din Djarin The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 6

Wayne’s tribute to Filoni is a big tease at what’s still to come, especially with Filoni’s upcoming The Mandalorian-era movie on the horizon. The movie, expected to be a culmination of the era first started in The Mandalorian, is going to be helmed by Filoni, and it will likely bring all the biggest heroes together against the adversary Grand Admiral Thrawn. As the man who most often lends his physical form to Din Djarin, Wayne will no doubt be an important part of the project, and thus his optimism for Filoni’s future is extremely promising for Star Wars viewers.

As for the nearer future, Filoni will continue to be an important part of the team behind The Mandalorian season 4, which may begin production in the early part of next year. Now that Din is the official adoptive father and Mandalorian mentor of Grogu, the two will be going on Grogu’s apprentice journeys by hunting Imperials as under-the-table contracted workers by Carson Teva. This new call to adventure hopefully promises another intimate season of The Mandalorian more like seasons 1 and 2, which many viewers have been craving after season 3’s wider scope. Wayne, however, could possibly be referring to Ahsoka season 2, thought it has yet to be officially greenlit – but has surely been requested by viewers.
