Tim Walz Faces New Controversy Over Dog Photos; Accusations of Lying and Fake News Unfold

Tim Walz Scot Gate Controversy Fails To Die, Posed With Two Different Dogs But Republicans Think He's Lying

Governor of Minnesota and the Democratic Party’s nominee for vice president in the 2024 United States presidential election, Tim Walz, and his canine controversy failed to die down, and it has again reared its ugly head.

Republicans have racked up the controversy once again and accused Tim Walz of posing with two different dogs and lying.

Republicans have in the past accused Kamala Harris’ running mate of lying about his military service and claims that his children were born through IVF.

Republicans accused Tim Walz of avoiding participating in the Iraq War and claimed that Tim’s children were born by IUI and not by IVF method.

However, the claim that Tim Walz lied about his dog Scout was fake news, and the falsehood was called out by many social media users, but the fake news spread widely.

The genesis of the fake news can be traced to an X post which featured Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz posing with two different dogs.

The post soon went viral with claims that Tim had lied about the name of his dog Scout.

The post went so viral that X added a community note explaining the facts, but this did not stop the Republicans from crying hoarse that Tim was a liar.

Dustin Grage, whose X bio calls him a ‘Minnesota GOP Hype Man,’ in a post said,

“Yes, this is Tim Walz tweeting about his dog Scout. Only problem is that these are two completely different dogs,”

The photo with a different dog was a screengrab from a video where Scout was playing with a different dog, but the photo had only Tim Walz and the second dog—not Scout.

However, the false claim was based on a video that was posted on his social media account, which said,

“Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a beautiful fall day than at the dog park. I know Scout enjoyed it,”

Former Fox News host Kimberley Guilfoyle, who is the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., said,

“Wait, so Walz is even lying about his dog? Ruff stuff.”

Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt said,

“Why would Tim Walz do this? It’s creepy and weird.”

When the fake news was debunked, many social media users asked Grage to delete the tweet, but he didn’t and said the Left was outraged over Scout Gate.

Grage added,

“They will happily make up a story about JD Vance but lose their minds over online trolls making fun of Tim Walz’s trail of lies.”
