Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that the provisions of the tripartite agreement with Tipra Motha Party in New Delhi will be implemented immediately. The agreement aims to protect and strengthen the rights of indigenous people in areas like history, land, and culture.

Saha mentioned that despite the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, work on the agreement will commence promptly. Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the importance of such agreements for peace and development in the northeast region.

The Chief Minister emphasized the historic nature of the pact, which will contribute to the overall development of the state. A Joint Working Group/Committee will be established to address and resolve issues outlined in the agreement within a specific timeframe.

The signing of the tripartite agreement involved key figures like TMP leader Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barman and Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma. This agreement is expected to impact the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP aiming to leverage the support of the significant tribal votebank in Tripura’s electorate.
