Trump vow to investigate ‘enemy of the people’ NBC News if elected draws White House rebuke

Leftists flipped their lids after former President Donald J. Trump all but openly declared war on the corrupt media, vowing to investigate NBC News, MSNBC, and parent company Comcast, drawing a rebuke from the White House.

The Republican frontrunner has good reason to be angry with a media that has spent over eight years dumping on him as well as promoting the debunked hoax that he was in cahoots with the Kremlin with there being no greater culprits than the Peacock’s news outlets, but it was the first time that he has pledged a government probe of the propagandists.

“They are almost all dishonest and corrupt, but Comcast, with its one-side and vicious coverage by NBC NEWS, and in particular MSNBC, often and correctly referred to as MSDNC (Democrat National Committee!), should be investigated for its ‘Country Threatening Treason.’ Their endless coverage of the now fully debunked SCAM known as Russia, Russia, Russia, and much else, is one big Campaign Contribution to the Radical Left Democrat Party,” Trump said in a Monday Truth Social post.

“I say up front, openly, and proudly, that when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things, and events. Why should NBC, or any other of the corrupt & dishonest media companies, be entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA, FREE? They are a true threat to Democracy and are, in fact, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! The Fake News Media should pay a big price for what they have done to our once great Country!” Trump wrote.

White House Senior Communications Advisor Andrew Bates slammed Trump in a statement to the left-leaning website Mediaite.

“President Biden swore an oath to uphold our Constitution and protect American Democracy. Freedom of the press is a fundamental Constitutional right. To abuse presidential power and violate the Constitutional rights of reporters would be an outrageous attack on our democracy and the rule of law,” he said.

“Presidents must always defend Americans’ freedoms – never trample on them for selfish, small, and dangerous political purposes,” Bates added without a hint if irony about his boss’s weaponizing of the Justice Department to bring charges against the opposition party leader and possibly have him locked up in jail before the election.

Trump’s apparent pledge to go after one of the greatest purveyors of disinformation on the airwaves comes just over a week after he sat down with Kristen Welker, the new host of the “Meet the Press” for a wide-ranging but mostly fair interview on the network’s Sunday morning flagship.

During saner times, the network featured the then-billionaire businessman in his long-running hit reality TV show “The Apprentice” which made him into a household name before it joined all other media outlets with the possible exception of Fox News in the relentless onslaught of fake news and scandal-mongering that was unleashed on Trump once he became a serious political force.

Whether Trump will also call for investigating the rest of the media has yet to be seen.
