[Updated] Navy Federal Credit Union outage delays direct deposits and paychecks; website & app down

Reports are pouring in about an outage of sorts at Navy Federal Credit Union. Customers aren’t able to access online banking, and hence complaining about paychecks or direct deposits becoming inaccessible. Some even can’t reach the bank’s customer care.

The financial institution says they are aware of the issue and working to fix it:

For what it’s worth, this is the second time in this month that such an outage has hit the Navy Federal systems.

And Navy Federal is certainly not the only bank facing such issues. Who could forget the recent Wells Fargo and Chase bank outages that made national headlines for days.

Here’s the latest statement from the company.

We are aware that members are unable to see deposits in their accounts. The deposits and postings have been made, but are unable to be viewed in our mobile app and online. We are working on this and will provide updates here once account deposits become visible. Members can still access their accounts on our mobile app and online. Phone service may not be available due to high volume

Mobile app not working? You’re not the only one, as many users are facing the same issue. What’s good is while reverting back to a user complaining about the mobile app, Navy Federal (through their official Twitter handle) responded saying they’re looking into the issue.

Going by latest reports, Navy Federal’s systems are down and users aren’t able to access their accounts. What’s good is that the company is aware and the matter is being looked into.

Update 15 (May 31, 2023)

10:00 am (IST): Navy Federal services seems to be in the middle of outage as both the app and the website are down or not working, causing delays in payments (1, 2, 3).

06:30 pm (IST): The Navy Federal Credit Union latest reported outage has finally been resolved.

Update 16 (July 6, 2023)

04:24 pm (IST): The ‘delayed deposits’ issue is again affecting the Navy Federal Credit Union platform, but the team is already working on resolving it.

Update 17 (July 7, 2023)

05:36 pm (IST): The issue appears to have been resolved as the reports stopped popping up yesterday.

Update 18 (July 13, 2023)

09:01 am (IST): Navy Federal Credit Union users report a new outage that prevents them from accessing the app/website or checking their accounts (1, 2).

09:55 am (IST): The Navy Federal Credit Union support team just confirmed that the outage is due to server maintenance:

We’re currently undergoing scheduled maintenance. We realize that our members are worldwide and maintain schedules on a wide variety of hours. We don’t always have Online Banking become temporarily unavailable during these time frames, only when absolutely needed. ~SN

05:25 pm (IST): Recent reports indicate that Navy Federal Credit Union is down or not working for some users (1,2,3).
