Prevost’s actions were deemed extremely cruel and beyond the realms of sane behaviour.
TikTok users across the world vented their thoughts on social media, and many users had trained hunting dogs.

The incident was highlighted on social media platforms, playing a big role in bringing the instance of animal cruelty to the authorities.
People from across the nation called in to report Cole Prevost’s cruelty towards his pet and left dozens of comments on the Sheriff’s Facebook page.
The authorities soon took action. In a statement released by the Tangipohoa Sheriff’s Department, it was stated:
“The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested three Ponchatoula teenagers in connection with a viral video of animal cruelty. One 15-year-old boy was arrested on one count of Animal Cruelty. The other two 15-year-old boys were each arrested on one count of Principal to Animal Cruelty.”
Police officials were able to determine that the incident happened in the Manchac area early in 2023. Warrants were obtained for their arrest, and all three were located at their homes.
County Sheriff Gerald Sticker added:
“Our investigations will be fact-based and diligent in order to present the next level, the court system, with the strongest case possible to achieve the most appropriate justice possible.”
The police also stated that the dog was in good condition and was hale and hearty.
Prevost’s parents also said that they did not approve of their son’s actions. In a statement after their son’s arrest, they stated:
“Because we love our son, we are committed to ensuring that he learns appropriately from this experience through accountability measures in the court system and at home.”
