WATCH: Scotty McCreery Halts Colorado Concert to Stop Alleged Assault, Ensuring Fan’s Safety

Country music star Scotty McCreery demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and care for his audience when he paused his performance at the Colorado State Fair on August 24 to address an unsettling situation.

The former “American Idol” winner was performing his song “It Matters To Her” when he noticed a man in the audience allegedly assaulting a woman. McCreery, known for his calm and collected demeanor, immediately stopped singing and called out the man from the stage.

“Right here, that’s a lady you just hit, sir,” McCreery said, as captured in a video shared by concertgoer Jessica Rosario. He continued to address the man, saying, “Absolutely not, you just hit the lady. Police? Security? Is she OK? Get the heck out of here.”

The crowd, visibly shaken by the incident, assisted security in identifying the alleged assailant, who was eventually escorted out of the venue.

McCreery, who was talking about his wife’s favorite song just moments before the incident, expressed his disbelief at the situation. “On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show? What are you doing?” he questioned, emphasizing that such behavior was “absolutely unacceptable.”

The identities of the man and woman involved have not been publicly disclosed, and it remains unclear whether any arrests were made. The incident is currently under investigation, according to Olga Robak, director of communications with The Colorado Department of Agriculture, who confirmed that Colorado State Fair security had managed the situation.
