This transition came after she departed from CTV News, marking a significant milestone in her career.
The news of this career shift was publicly announced by both Global News and Petracek herself.
On 21 October, the journalist took to social media to share her sentiments, stating, “Today was my last day @CTVAtlantic.”
“It’s a bittersweet day after working with this talented team for almost 13 years,” she added.
The news anchor expressed her excitement for the upcoming chapter in her career while reflecting on her past experiences.
“The next chapter is exciting, but I look back fondly on these years, serving viewers throughout the Maritimes. I will continue to do so. Many thanks,” she wrote.
Shortly after her announcement, it was revealed that the veteran broadcaster would join Global National on 23 October, taking on the role of a national correspondent based in Halifax.
This position was previously held by long-time reporter, Ross Lord, who had retired earlier that year.
