Kimberly is a clairvoyant from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, who fell in love with Jaipur, India, man TJ Goswami online. Kimberly moved to India on the reality TV show and made it clear she was not meant to stay with TJ’s family. Kimberly complained about their apartment and fought with his mom, Alka, and brother, Yash. So much so that Kimberly’s father even suggested she fly back to America. Kimberly is still getting married to TJ because of their love for each other, but at the same time, she is disrespectful of his culture.
The first Indian ceremonial parts of Kimberly’s and TJ’s wedding were shown on episode 14. TJ explained his wedding was the following day, but back-to-back festivities would be planned over two days. The wedding had been planned to Kimberly’s liking, including the décor and food stalls. They were expecting over 200 guests to show up to the ceremony. At Kimberly’s Mehndi function, where they paint henna on the hands and feet of the bride, she stated her stomach had been upset the moment she woke up. Kimberly pooped in her pants before heading to the Mehndi ceremony.
Kim Had A Disappointed Look On Her Face During Mehndi
Kim complained that she was surrounded by a bunch of people she didn’t know and couldn’t communicate with. “It’s really awkward,” she declared. TJ’s mom, Alka, sweetly asked Kimberly what the issue was, and Kim gave her a sour look. Seeing this, one of the guests asked Kimberly to put a smile on her face. The ladies may have asked TJ to intervene because of the look she sported. She had a list of excuses ready. Kimberly claimed she had been throwing up all day and was freezing. “We just started our wedding festivities, so you don’t want bad vibes around you,” TJ told the cameras.
Kim Refused To Sit On TJ’s Mom’s Lap For Anjali Ceremony
TJ said that since there were so many ceremonies and rituals planned that involved Kimberly, he hoped she would be “taking the energy out” and feeling more positive about the ceremony. TJ admitted Kimberly was being difficult. It had him worried. The next ceremony was called the “Anjali,” which was like a bridal shower in the U.S. TJ’s family would be giving gifts to Kimberly to show love to the new girl they were welcoming into their home. TJ explained that “Anjali” in Hindi means “lap,” so the gifts had to be placed in the bride’s lap.
Kimberly seemed annoyed with people placing things on her lap and smiling to take pictures, only for someone to take the gifts away. Kimberly felt like a “cardboard cutout” that everyone takes photos with and leaves. But what really irked her was a ritual where Kimberly had to sit on her mother-in-law’s lap. TJ accepted they never let her know about it beforehand. But TJ said it was a ritual to strengthen the relationship between a daughter and mother-in-law. Kimberly laughed about TJ’s mom not being Santa Claus. She found the entire thing to be “weird.”
Kim Didn’t Want To Dance In Her Own Sangeet Ceremony
The last ceremony for the day was the “Sangeet.” Members of TJ’s family put on a song and dance show for the bride and groom, who were just 24 hours away from getting married. TJ’s brother, who had apologized to Kimberly for their disagreements, also danced on stage. The bride and groom are also supposed to dance, but Kimberly refused to do it. When TJ finally convinced her, 90 Day Fiancé star Kimberly didn’t seem too interested even when she was on stage in front of the guests.
With Kimberly and TJ’s wedding just hours away, it remains to be seen how she will react to the rest of the ceremonies that are on their way on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. After all, TJ promised the cameras that what was in store for them the next day was “nothing in comparison” to what Kimberly had experienced on Day 1.
