‘A seriously top player’: James Maddison & Espanyol star react to news out of Tottenham

James Maddison and Espanyol star Keita Balde have reacted to the news that Ivan Perisic has suffered an ACL injury for Tottenham.
The 34-year-old suffered the injury during ‘non-contact’ training and he is now expected to miss the rest of the season for Tottenham, as reported by BBC Sport.
Whilst Ivan Perisic isn’t a starter for Ange Postecoglou, he is still a valuable member of the squad and the dressing room because of his experience.
That was proven by the flood of messages that were sent to the Tottenham star, as he rehashed via his Instagram story on Thursday.
One of them included his Spurs teammate James Maddison, who told him that he was ‘gutted’ for him, whilst Espanyol winger Keita Balde added ‘strength to you’.
It’s going to be a tough road to recovery for the player, with the only hope that it’s still early on in the season and he can return during the final weeks of the 2023/24 campaign.
Reaction to Perisic’s injury
“Gutted for you, mate,” wrote Maddison. “What a seriously top player! Speedy recovery and I’m sending my love.”
Espanyol star Keita Balde added: “Strength to you, brother.”
Has Perisic played his last game for Tottenham?
If Perisic doesn’t return back this season, then there is every chance that he has played his final game for Spurs.
You have to bear in mind that there was talk this summer about the left-footed superstar possibly heading for the exit door.
Either way, what will be more gutting for the player is the possibility that he will miss Euro 2024, which will be his target as he starts his recovery.
