What You Need To Know About Dune: Part 2’s Characters
Dune: Part 2‘s character posters give small hints about the characters based on their expressions of intensity, anger, or stoniness. Combined with what is already known about the characters, viewers get a fairly good idea of their roles in the sequel. For returning characters, viewers will easily recognize Chalamet, Zendaya, and Ferguson. Atreides looks determined in his character poster, which reflects his new leadership role among the Fremen and his determination to save Arrakis and avenge his family.
Zendaya has a similar look of determination as she reprises her role as the warrior Chani among the Fremen. Meanwhile, Ferguson’s poster teases her becoming a Reverend Mother. Bautista’s Dune: Part Two poster is one of rage, which largely sums up his brutish and sadistic character, Glossu “Beast” Rabban. Bardem looks pensive as the leader of the Fremen, while Brolin looks serious and thoughtful as Atreides’ mentor, Gurney Halleck. Skarsgård’s expression is hard to read as The Baron, the sworn enemy of the House of Atriedes.
The new characters in Dune: Part 2 are a little more mysterious. However, Butler’s stony expression as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen reflects the character’s villainy as The Baron’s nephew and successor of House Harkonnen. Walken looks intimidating and collected as Shaddam IV, the emperor of the Known Universe, who seeks to maintain his power. Pugh’s and Seydoux’s also have expressions that are hard to read as the daughter and friend of the emperor, respectively. While there are many things to look forward to in Dune: Part 2, the talented cast and their complex characters are one of the most anticipated aspects.
