‘Lots of quality’: Cesc Fabregas wowed by West Ham United player v Newcastle

Cesc Fabregas was mightily impressed by the role Mohammed Kudus played from the bench as West Ham United rescued a draw against Newcastle United.

David Moyes’ big-name summer signing came off the bench to score a late equaliser, with Cesc Fabregas adding that the goal had ‘lots of quality’, as he told Premier League Productions (08/10/23 at 4:00 pm).

It was Mohammed Kudus’s first goal in West Ham colours and you would imagine that there are many more to come.

But with the Hammers earning a point, their fans will feel that they should have got a lot more from the game.

In the first half, Bruno Guimaraes was ‘very lucky’ not to get sent off, that’s according to Fabregas himself.

At the time, West Ham were leading 1-0, and you would imagine Newcastle wouldn’t have been able to come back into the match had that second yellow been awarded.

Mohammed Kudus praise

“Fantastic first touch,” said Fabregas. “It still bouncing the ball. But he put his body right. He went for power, but also lots of quality. First goal and what a goal.”

Mohammed Kudus will cook at West Ham

When the former Ajax star can get settled and playing on a consistent basis, he will prove to be a top, top signing for the club.

The likes of James Ward-Prowse are proving that the club’s summer transfer business should be trusted and someone like Kudus will cook.

He is a player who should be given the freedom to express himself on the ball, and given the defensive quality around him, then he will be able to do that with ease.
