Attack on Titan’s final ever artbook is a pre-order-only launch

The first and final artbook from the Attack on Titan franchise was revealed this week, titled ‘Fly’, which is set to launch on April 30, 2024.

The Attack on Titan: Fly artbook will include over 200 pages from the manga including early sketches from Isayama and his team, unique merchandise, as well as new color pages from the series’ assistant, and even an 18-page bonus volume.

The bonus volume will be titled ‘Bad Boy’ and according to the official preview, will include a “top-secret final draft”, although details on the contents remain suspiciously sparse at the time of writing.

Fans of the Attack on Titan series can pre-order copies of the Fly artbook right now, and pre-orders will be available until closing on November 30.

Those wishing to purchase their own copy should be aware that this is a pre-order-only launch: After the initial stock sells out, the artbook will not be released for retail or commercial sales – even after the April 30 publication.

This means that fans need to pre-order a copy soon, or risk missing out on getting their hands on Attack on Titan: Fly and the special bonus volume forever.

Isayama shares a personal update about the state of Attack on Titan

Alongside confirmation of the Attack on Titan: Fly artbook and pre-order sale launch, author Hajime Isayama also shared a special message to fans.

“My name is Hajime Isayama. It has been about two and a half years since I finished the serialization of Attack on Titan. I have decided to release a color art book. I am very honored. I am happy to have the compilation of my past work in a book.”

Isayama revealed that “I would like to say proudly, ‘I am very happy to have compiled all of my work into a book,’ but in fact, I have only done line drawings for the color illustrations”, revealing that the coloring for the new artbook was done by his assistant.

“I am proud to say that I am known for not excelling at drawing, so there is no way I could do a great coloring job. I believe that this work would not have been possible without the presence of the specialist who has been in charge of coloring Attack on Titan since the beginning…. I would be happy if [this] color art book focuses on those who have continued to support the series behind the scenes.”

Attack on Titan season 4 part 4 is scheduled to premiere around the world via Crunchyroll on November 4, this will be the anime series’ finale.
