‘Captain’: Gabby Agbonlahor brutally mocks £280,000-a-week Arsenal player

Kai Havertz joined Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal paid £65 million in transfer fees to Chelsea for Kai Havertz.

The Gunners are paying Havertz a weekly salary of £280,000 (Spotrac).

I did not think that Arsenal should have signed Havertz.

After all, Arsenal have enough attacking players.

While Havertz is a very good and promising player who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, he is not better than what Arsenal already have on their books at the moment.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is desperately trying to make it work for Havertz, but it is simply not happening at the moment.

Havertz has made five starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.

The Germany international forward has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.

Havertz has not scored or provided an assist in two UEFA Champions League matches for Arsenal this campaign.

Gabby Agbonlahor on Arsenal forward Kai Havertz

Former Aston Villa striker and talKSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Havertz has been a huge flop this season.

Agbonlahor told talkSPORT when asked about the worst signing so far this season: “Onana is up there [for worst signing].

“It’s because of how he’s started. Mason Mount is up there, he’s not done anything, has he?

“[Kai] Havertz. Havertz is the captain of the flop team so far. But I’m going to have to go Onana.”

My View: Arsenal fans should have faith in Kai Havertz

Although I personally do not expect Kai Havertz to become a huge success at Arsenal, I think that the Gunners fans should not give up on him just yet.

We have seen Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta improve and develop the likes of Martin Odegaard and William Saliba.

Havertz could get better under Arteta.

After all, he is hugely talented and is just 24 now.

Havertz has made 99 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The forward has scored 20 goals and given eight assists in those games.
