Israel’s ambassador DETAINED at UN Assembly for what he did during Iranian President speech

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, protested a speech by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, parading around the sanctum holding a picture high of a young woman killed while in the custody of Tehran’s morality police.

According to the Daily Mail, he was immediately detained by security on Tuesday and was whisked out of the chamber after accusing the UN of rolling out the red carpet “for murderers and antisemites.”

The photo that Erdan held high before being detained was of Mahsa Amini, who was only 22 years old when she was arrested by the morality police for not covering enough of her hair in public. She would later die at the hands of the zealots.

Erdan walked toward the stage holding her picture above his head for all to see and on it was emblazoned the message, “Iranian women deserve freedom now!”

Raisi ignored Erdan during his speech. He also ignored the ambassador as he was escorted out of the room by UN security but a video was aired exposing his deplorable treatment. The ambassador told Fox News Digital he was detained with “unacceptable” brutality.

The Independent is claiming that despite reports of Edan being detained, the United Nations claimed the Israeli official had merely spoken with security. Footage belies that claim, unless, of course, you count security grabbing him by both elbows and pulling him out of the room as ‘speaking with security.’

“There was indeed an incident when the permanent representative of Israel walked down the aisle and unfurled a photo during the speech by the president of Iran in the general assembly,” a spokesperson stated. “UN security spoke to him. At no time was the ambassador detained in any way, shape, or form. As far as we are concerned, the incident is closed.”

Erdan, who has been an ambassador since 2020, took to X later and accused the UN of being guilty of “moral distortions” for allowing Raisi to speak after presiding over a brutal crackdown in Iran.

“When President Raisi of Iran, the ‘Butcher of Tehran,’ began his speech, I waved a picture of Mahsa Amini, the innocent Iranian woman who was brutally murdered by the regime one year ago for not wearing a hijab ‘properly,’” Erdan declared on X.

“Meanwhile, outside the UN hundreds of Iranians were protesting, begging for help from the international community. I will never stop fighting for the truth and I will always expose the UN’s moral distortions. Those who roll out the red carpet for murderers and antisemites must be held accountable for their actions!” he proclaimed.

“It is inconceivable that a murderer with blood on his hands gets a platform here at the UN. I left the speech to make it clear that the State of Israel stands by the Iranian people. I call on the international community to stop the madness and prevent murderers and antisemites from coming and speaking here at the UN,” Erdan asserted in a statement that was sent to Reuters by Israel’s mission to the United Nations.

The ambassador filmed a video earlier in front of a shrine to victims of the Iranian regime’s repression.

“While the UN rolls out the red carpet for the Butcher of Tehran, President Raisi, Iranians in New York are here to show the true face of the Ayatollah regime. The leaders in Iran only seek to oppress, starve, and murder their own people, while exporting terror and racing toward nuclear weapons,” he wrote.

“The world must wake up and listen to the voices of innocent Iranians! The Ayatollah regime must be held accountable for their crimes and pay the price! The people of Israel stand with the people of Iran. #IsraelisLoveIranians,” Erdan stated.

“The U.N.’s lost moral compass was on full display today,” Erdan said in a statement given to Fox News Digital.

“Being detained for standing with the Iranian people and protesting a vile mass murderer who was given an audience on the global stage is utterly disgraceful. It is yet another example of the strong bias Israel suffers at the U.N. Other ambassadors have previously held signs for ideological reasons, including in recent sessions on the war in Ukraine, with no repercussions. I will not be deterred and will always stand up for what is right and just,” he vowed.

Tuesday marked the first anniversary of Iran’s nationwide uprisings that began last September following the death of Amini.

Raisi gave a predictable and incendiary speech to the world leaders gathered at the UN, declaring that Iran will not give up its “obvious right for peaceful use of nuclear technology.”

He urged the US to return to the 2015 nuclear deal, something that President Biden and Democrats seem keen on doing irrespective of Iran’s atrocities and terrorism.

He claimed that nuclear advancements would not be used by Iran’s military. A vow that virtually no one believes.

The Iranian president’s remarks came just one day after the US and Iran exchanged prisoners and Biden forked over nearly $6 billion in frozen assets to the terrorist regime.
