Lola Tung wants to ’embrace the unknown’ after The Summer I Turned Pretty
The Summer I Turned Pretty recently concluded its latest run of installments and the fandom is all patiently waiting for what’s next. Indeed, audiences will be eager to discover what its central breakout star has in her sights too.
Looking back, The Summer I Turned Pretty wrapped things up for season 2 in August 2023 and viewers want it to return for season 3 on Amazon Prime Video. However, with the long wait kicking in, Belly actress Lola Tung is feeling uncertain where the next step of her career will take her.

The 20-year-old actress and model landed her debut role on The Summer I Turned Pretty and is yet to bring another character to screens beyond Belly.
So, during a recent interview with Numero Mag, she was asked what she has lined up next after season 2.
“I don’t really know what’s next,” she confessed. “As someone who enjoys planning and knowing what the next step is, I am trying to be present and embrace the unknown. I am excited to find out what the future holds.”
Whether it’s in modeling, acting, or pursuing another passion, Lola’s intrigued to see which opportunities present themselves. She also opened up about how she’s dealt with her new-found fame after being on such a hit show.
“It is a weird thing to suddenly be in the public eye,” she explained. “It is something that I am definitely still getting used to. Most of the fans are so kind and say such lovely things about the show and how much it means to them. And I am always grateful for those interactions.”
Despite this, she did add that “Sometimes the attention can be slightly overwhelming, but I surround myself with the people that I love and that make me feel grounded, safe and happy. My friends and family have been so supportive of me and there for me and I’m forever grateful for all of them.”
Addressing how she sometimes relieves the pressure, she cited social media breaks.
Is The Summer I Turned Pretty renewed for season 3?
Yes, The Summer I Turned Pretty was officially renewed for season 3 in August 2023.
It will serve as an adaptation of the 2011 novel We’ll Always Have Summer, the third and
final book in Jenny Han’s trilogy of books.
A release date is yet to be announced but we predict it will begin premiering in the summer of 2024.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
