‘Shocking’: Talksport pundit can’t believe what he saw from £175,000-a-week Tottenham player today

Richarlison is not having the best of times at Tottenham Hotspur, and the Brazil international forward was disappointing against Luton Town.

Tottenham Hotspur took on Luton Town away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

It was supposed to be an easy win for Spurs.

After all, Tottenham have been one of the best teams in the Premier League so far this season.

As for Luton, they are struggling at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Richarlison struggles for Tottenham Hotspur vs Luton Town

Many would have expected Richarlison to score a goal or two.

But, the Brazil international forward did not and was replaced at half time.

That probably had to do more with the fact that Yves Bissouma had been sent off in the closing stages of the first half, but the fact of the matter is that Richarlison really struggled in the first 45 minutes.

The £175,000-a-week (SalarySport) forward missed one of the easiest chances he will ever get to score.

In the third minute, England international attacking midfielder James Maddison whipped a ball to the back post that beat a defender and the home goalkeeper.

Richarlison tipped the ball over the bar.

Dean Ashton shocked by Richarlison

Dean Ashton was following the match for talkSPORT.

The former West Ham United striker was on co-commentary duty for the match.

And he was not impressed.

Ashton said on talkSPORT (12:33pm, October 7, 2023): “Shocking miss. As simple as that.

“Doesn’t get any easier than that for Richarlison.”

During his time on the pitch, Richarlison took four shots and only one was on target, had a pass accuracy of 75%, won three headers, took 41 touches, made two tackles and one interception, and put in two crosses.

Richarlison should have scored at least two goals against Luton.

I believe that the 26-year-old will be hugely disappointed by his performance.
