Star Wars Theory Reveals The World Between Worlds Is The Key To Ahsoka’s Return

A new Star Wars theory suggests Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) may return to the known galaxy via the World Between Worlds. Having been stranded on the extragalactic world of Peridea at the end of Ahsoka, the titular Jedi hero and her apprentice Sabine Wren (Natasha Lui Bordizzo) have no discernible way of escaping the planet while Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) seemingly prepares to lead the Imperial Remnant as Heir to the Empire. However, the World Between Worlds may provide the key.

Debuting in the animated Star Wars Rebels series, the World Between Worlds is a Force nexus existing outside of time and space with doorways leading to multiple points across the timeline. As seen in Star Wars Rebels season 4, Jedi Ezra Bridger uses the nexus to save Ahsoka in the past from her duel with Darth Vader before she ultimately returns to her own time. A version of the nexus was also featured in Ahsoka itself when Tano is reunited with the spirit of her old master Anakin Skywalker. However, the World Between Worlds is also known as “Vergence Scatter” potentially offering the means for Ahsoka and Sabine’s eventual return.

The World Between Worlds Appears To Link Force Vergences

It’s Known As A Vergence Scatter

Existing as a collection of doorways and pathways to multiple points in time and space, it’s notable that many of the doorways seen in the World Between Worlds thus far have been to worlds strong in the Force with concentrations of naturally occurring dark or light side Force energy, most commonly localized around a particular place. These are known as vergences, hence the World Between Worlds being known as a vergence scatter as a nexus that seemingly connects them all within the cosmic Force.

Planets with known Force vergences include Dagobah and the Cave of Evil, the Jedi Temple on Lothal, Darth Vader’s fortress on Mustafar, the Mirror Cave on Ahch-To, and more. Vergences can also be individuals with incredible power in the Force such as Anakin Skywalker, perhaps explaining the presence of his spirit within the World Between Worlds as seen in Ahsoka. After all, the Force nexus is also known as a netherworld given its existence outside the physical realm.

One Vergence Seen In The World May Hint At Peridea

Zeffo and Howlers Perhaps?

Interestingly enough, one of the doorways/vergences in Star Wars Rebels season 4 may link to the extragalactic world of Peridea. As seen at the top of the circular doorway, there appears to be iconography resembling the ancient race known as the Zeffo. This is significant considering the Nightsister temple on Peridea featured seen in Ahsoka also had an inscription pointing to Kujet, a key leader of the Zeffo who was ultimately corrupted by the dark side.

Likewise, it seems as though depictions of the Peridean wolf mounts known as Howlers are featured on the sides of the doorway. This is not unlike the Loth-wolves featured on the doorway leading to the Lothal Jedi Temple seen in Rebels. Regardless, the unique symbols of this doorway support the idea that there are other doorways and points of access for multiple Force vergences across the galaxy. Accessing this incredible Force nexus doesn’t have to solely be through the Lothal temple and its mural of the Mortis gods as was seen in Star Wars Rebels season 4.

Ahsoka Can Return To The Star Wars Galaxy Through Peridea’s Force Vergence

Is There A Way Back For Ahsoka and Sabine?

Considering the Mortis gods’ connections to the World Between Worlds and the celestial beings’ obvious presence on Peridea as discovered by Baylan Skoll, it’s possible that a doorway to the World Between Worlds could be on the extragalactic world itself. This would be huge for Ahsoka Tano and Sabine either in a potential Ahsoka season 2 or in a future Star Wars project as a doorway could give them a way back home to the known Star Wars galaxy. Likewise, Ahsoka’s end-credits sequence and all the planets featured on the star map are notable as well. Perhaps they too contain vergences and doorways to the World Between Worlds as well.
